08 : Sleep together when it rained

Chen Zhoumu hadn't brought any extra blankets, and Song Shi didn't either. In the end, Chen Zhoumu decided the two of them would squeeze in for the night. Song Shi was initially very resistant; he had never slept with anyone before.

But given the current situation, it seemed like this was the only feasible option.

Afraid that two strong men squeezing into the upper bunk would break the bed, Chen Zhoumu took Song Shi's blanket down and neatly spread it out. He sat on the bed, patted the spot next to him, and said, "Okay, come on, sleep."

Looking at Chen Zhoumu, Song Shi thought, "Fine, I'll just pretend I'm sleeping with a dog. "

The unfamiliar atmosphere surrounded him, and Song Shi, lying there, couldn't sleep at all. The lights in the room were off, there was a little light from outside, and the air conditioner was humming overhead.

But none of this was as clear as the breathing of the person beside him. Song Shi stared blankly at the upper bunk. The person next to him stirred, and when he turned his head, he met a pair of dark eyes.

"Aren't you going to sleep?" Chen Zhoumu asked softly.

Song Shi turned his head and continued staring at the bed: "Hmm."

"Actually, I've been thinking about something. Are all you Southerners this cold?"

"No."

"Then why are you always so indifferent?"

He turned and glared at Chen Zhoumu, who blinked pitifully: "Can't you be a little warmer to me? Song classmate."

Song Shi didn't want to talk to this idiot, so he closed his eyes and pretended to be dead. The people next to him kept talking.

"Song classmate?"

"Roommate?"

"Song Shi?"

"..."

The person who spoke stirred but didn't make a sound. Song Shi thought the other person was asleep. When he opened his eyes, he saw Chen Zhoumu propping himself up and looking at him. Song Shi was startled: "What are you doing!"

"Checking if you're asleep."

Song Shi was genuinely amused. He didn't know if the other person was faking it or doing it on purpose. He reached out to push the other person away, but his hand was grabbed. A low laugh came from above: "Alright, I won't tease you anymore. By the way, why are your hands so cold? Shall I turn up the air conditioning for you?"

He felt the other person put his hand under the blanket and hold it tightly. His slightly cold hand instantly warmed up. Song Shi's hair stood on end. He didn't like being touched by others, even people he was very familiar with.

So he abruptly pulled his hand away; "No need."

"Are you angry again?"

"No!"

"Then why won't you let me hold your hand?" "

Go to sleep!"

"Oh."

"So you've completely forgiven me now?"

Song Shi turned his back to Chen Zhoumu, mumbled an "Mmm," and after a while, explained, "I haven't been angry at all."

The only answer was the other person's breathing. He turned around and saw that the other person had closed his eyes and seemed to have fallen asleep.

Song Shi: "..." He'd be a dog if he paid any more attention to this person.

Listening to the even breathing, Song Shi's sleepiness slowly crept in. In his drowsy state, the person behind him moved and faced him, and a very soft voice came from his ear: "Okay, Song classmate."

He had a good night's sleep and didn't have any more strange dreams, but he woke up in the morning because he was hot. He closed his eyes and frowned, thinking that the power had gone out and the air conditioner had been turned off, but the air conditioner above was still running.

He felt something heavy wrapped around his waist, something that held him tightly, impossible to break free from. Song Shi reached out to pry it off, and a familiar voice came from behind: "Stop it, sleep a little longer."

Song Shi squinted, the events of last night flashing through his mind. Looking at the person so close to him, his sleepiness vanished instantly: "Chen Zhoumu! Move over a bit!"

"No, I'm sleepy..." he said, nuzzling his shoulder.

"..." What were his chances of successfully kicking the other man off?

Looking at the other man's expression, Song Shi sighed inwardly. He decided to just consider it like being squeezed by a dog and lay down resignedly.

"Don't press down on me!" Song Shi said, trying to push him away.

"Stop it...it hurts." Chen Zhoumu sat up with his eyes closed and pulled the half-supported Song Shi into his arms, pressing him down tightly.

"Chen..." Before he could finish, the door slammed against the wall.

A figure burst in from outside.

He Xi watched their movements: "...!"

Song Shi stopped struggling: "...?"

The next second, He Xi closed the door. Having seen Chen Zhoumu get up so early last time, He Xi was determined to get up even earlier this time. When he arrived at 306, he found their door open and heard noises coming from inside.

He pressed his ear against the door for a while, but accidentally bumped it open, meeting Song Shi's gaze.

Chen Zhoumu, awakened, finally opened his eyes groggily: "Hmm? Was it thundering?"

Song Shi chuckled. He hadn't been struck by thunder, but the person next to him was about to be. He had escaped unscathed because

he'd injured his back the night before. After the alarm rang outside, Song Shi finished washing up and glanced at the other's back injury, which seemed even worse than yesterday, surrounded by bruises.

"Does it hurt a lot? Do you need me to help you?" Song Shi sincerely met his eyes.

*

"Is it okay? Am I heavy?" Song Shi felt the other's breath on his ear; the weight against him wasn't very heavy.

He looked at the other person speechlessly: "Heavy, like a pig."

The surrounding classmates glanced over from time to time, some whispering amongst themselves.

Suddenly, a figure appeared beside him: "What are you two doing?"

Song Shi's brow twitched, and sure enough, he turned his head and saw that familiar pair of black-rimmed glasses. Zhou Wei walked up to the two of them, adjusting his glasses: "Still lingering here? Exams are coming up soon."

"Chen Zhoumu? It's you two again!" His serious expression cracked, glaring at the two who were practically inseparable.

"School is a very serious place! You two are receiving higher education here, in broad daylight! Under the clear sky! What kind of behavior is this, putting your arms around each other like that!"

"Hooking hands in class, pulling and tugging after class, should I go get you two a bed..."

"You two little brats! Where are you going!"

While Zhou Wei was engrossed in his lecture, Chen Zhoumu had already propped himself up, grabbed Song Shi's hand, and run towards the teaching building, leaving Zhou Wei standing there pointing at their backs.

A heavy rain last night cooled the sweltering air considerably, and the sky remained overcast today. The scent of freshly turned earth filled the air. Song Shi's hand was held tightly; the person who had been half-dead leaning against him just moments before now seemed full of energy.

His hand, gripped tightly, was dry and warm; Song Shi could smell his scent. The wind ruffled their school uniforms, accompanied by the screams and laughter of girls above.

After the last exam, it was already evening, and everyone returned to their seats.

As soon as the two sat down, He Xi, who was sitting in front, turned around to look at them. Chen Zhoumu frowned and clicked his tongue, "Spit it out."

"You two... made up?"

In a place where no one was paying attention, the person sitting in front turned slightly.

"No, we just..." They hadn't argued.

Before Chen Zhoumu could finish the second half of his sentence, He Xi interrupted him in surprise: "You... you haven't made up yet? Didn't you sleep together?" With

a 'thud,' Zhang Jingxiao, who was sitting in front, was even more surprised than He Xi and stood up excitedly: "Slept... slept together!"

It was evening self-study after the exams, and there were no teachers to supervise, not even the bespectacled guy would come up. Hearing Zhang Jingxiao's shout, everyone fell silent and turned around.

He Xi was startled and quickly grabbed Zhang Jingxiao's clothes: "Sister Xiao, sit down, sit down."

Zhang Jingxiao finally came back to her senses, but her eyes were still extremely excited. The surroundings returned to normal, but there were still people secretly looking this way.

Song Shi, who was tidying up his desk, lost his temper when he saw this scene and didn't even have the thought of saying anything to explain.

"Really...really asleep?" Zhang Jingxiao's bright eyes swept over the two people behind her.

"Yeah, I saw it with my own eyes this morning, I saw it with both eyes." He Xi nodded.

Only Chen Zhoumu found it strange: "What's wrong with two grown men sleeping together?"

Song Shi looked up at Zhang Jingxiao, clearly the girl had misunderstood. Just as he was about to speak, she asked again.

"Who's on top and who's on the bottom?"

Chen Zhoumu thought for a moment: "Usually I'm on the bottom, but yesterday..."

He didn't finish his sentence because Song Shi covered his mouth. Zhang Jingxiao, sitting in front of him, glanced at him with an 'I understand' look and then turned to frantically text on her phone.

Song Shi looked at Chen Zhoumu's innocent eyes: "...Never mind."

He put his hand down, sat back down, and continued tidying his desk. Don't get angry with an idiot.

"What's wrong? My back still hurts." The other person leaned closer, head down.

"If you don't want others to know we slept together, then I won't say anything, okay?"

Zhang Jingxiao covered her mouth and screamed, her hand rapidly swiping on her phone: "Sisters! The information is wrong! Song Shi is the top, our school bully is actually the bottom!"

Song Shi: "..." *I hope it hurts to death.*

A light rain started to fall outside. Song Shi didn't usually carry an umbrella; Tang Ze always did. He saw that the rain wasn't heavy and thought it might stop by the time school ended.

But after the evening self-study bell rang, the drizzle didn't stop and instead became heavier.

Song Shi stood at the door, looking at the rain that could kill someone, thinking it was okay since he still had Tang Ze.

*Ding*, his phone screen lit up.

Ze Shao Zui Shuai: [Old Song, I have something to do tonight, you go home first]

Ze Shao Zui Shuai: [By the way, do you have an umbrella? Why don't you take mine?]

Song Shi thought he only had one, so getting soaked on the way home was no big deal.

S: [No need, I have an umbrella.]

Song Shi put his phone in his pocket, looking at the torrential rain. He was about to rush in when he was pulled back.

Chen Zhoumu smiled: "What, want to catch a cold?"

"I have an umbrella."

Chen Zhoumu took out the umbrella behind him and opened it.

Song Shi's vision went black as he looked at the enormous umbrella, which could easily cover both of them, but looking at its bright fluorescent green, he felt a strong aversion.

He would rather get wet than carry this umbrella around in public; he would be a sitting duck.

"Never mind, I'll wait until the rain gets a little lighter..."

"No, look how impressive this umbrella is." Chen Zhoumu put his arm around his shoulder.

He looked at the person whose disgust was obvious and felt like teasing him.

"Come on."

"No."

"My back hurts."

Chen Zhoumu saw the other's softened expression and pulled him into his arms, walking into the rain: "Let's go, young master."
