46 : The secret

with his back to him paused, then quickly pulled away from her and walked away. Just as he was about to leave,

Gao Ting ran over and grabbed his hand tightly. The weather was still cold today.

But he was dressed as lightly as ever, making his hands cold. Gao Ting couldn't hold him with one hand, so she used both to hold his right hand.

Her hands were warm, gripping his hand tightly and heavily, as if she wanted to break it, making it impossible for him to break free.

Shen Huai turned around and looked at her, his face expressionless: "What are you doing?"

"Where have you been? I haven't been able to find you." Gao Ting looked at the face she hadn't seen in so long, her voice unconsciously choked with emotion.

Shen Huai pursed his lips, but in the end, he didn't speak. He tightened his grip slightly, but didn't pull away.

He looked at the person who was much shorter than her, wanting to reach out and brush away the strands of hair that had been blown by the wind, wanting to straighten the collar that she hadn't had time to adjust in her haste to run over.

Gao Ting wasn't annoyed that the person in front of her didn't reply. She loosened her grip slightly and asked, "When did you get in touch with Zhang Su?"

This was what she cared about most. Shen Huai had been there for her during that darkest time, but why were they together?

Gao Ting was going crazy!

Why why why why why why?!

He clearly knew, he clearly knew what kind of person Zhang Su was.

Shen Huai looked at her, her eyes slightly moist. He was about to make her cry again.

He had already withdrawn his hand, but he remained in the same position, then curled his fingers, suppressing the longing in his heart.

Suddenly, a laugh was heard in the space. Gao Ting looked up at the laughter coming from Shen Huai.

He was no longer expressionless, but smiling at her. She used to love seeing him laugh. He was usually cold, only showing a bit of warmth when he laughed.

But this laugh made her extremely uncomfortable. She didn't know when he had cut his hair short and dyed it, how the scar between his eyebrows came about, and why they had suddenly stopped contacting each other.

She wanted to get to the bottom of everything, but the other person didn't give her the chance. They suddenly moved closer, and Gao Ting was caught off guard, her waist grabbed by two hands. She slammed against the wall behind her

, the force of the impact easing. The other person's arms supported her back, easing the impact. She was stunned for a moment, then felt a soft, warm touch on her lips. Her pupils dilated slightly, reflecting Shen Huai's closed eyes.

There was no further movement; the other person's touch on her lips was brief.

Gao Ting didn't struggle. The other person's lips were soft but dry. She tilted her head back, enduring the sensation. The hem of her clothes rustled, and her waist was gently touched.

She instinctively began to struggle, but the other person didn't stop. Finally, they bit down hard on her lips, the bite drawing blood that trickled down her chin.

Shen Huai released her, watching Gao Ting lean against the wall, panting heavily, a trace of his own blood on her lips making her face appear even paler. He wanted to hug her but didn't.

He no longer deserved to stand beside her.

After Gao Ting recovered, she saw him coldly observing her. Before, she had been a participant; now she was an observer. Tears welled up, struggling to escape her grasp.

"Look, Gao Ting, let's not contact each other anymore. I still prefer a normal person."

Shen Huai's cold face was fierce, and it was now as well. His eyes were emotionless, but Gao Ting saw a hint of mockery.

Her blood seemed to freeze, a chill running through her from head to toe, and she trembled slightly. "What...did you say?"

"Don't you understand? I like normal people. I'm almost twenty this year, and I want a woman who can satisfy my physical needs. Can you? Can you sleep with me? You won't even touch me."

Gao Ting withdrew her supporting hand, then looked at him, taking a deep breath. "Chen Huai..." She raised the bracelet on her wrist. "What about this? Because of the bracelet, I can forgive..."

"Forgive? Why should you forgive me? I only stayed with you because I felt sorry for you. You're being too presumptuous."

His hands were in his pockets, his expressionless eyes reflecting her current state.

How pathetic, how wretched, how ridiculous.

Gao Ting slowly lowered her hand, then violently ripped off the bracelet, smiling at him. "Fine, then I'll never forgive you for the rest of my life."

She threw the bracelet into the nearby garbage dump. A white star was strung on the red string, small but carrying a heavy weight. It disappeared into the mosquito-infested garbage truck.

Meanwhile, at the nearby affiliated high school, all the students had already been assigned to the school dormitories, which were, of course, the best available.

Everyone had a single room, with students from the same school residing on each floor. Song Shi and his group weren't on the same floor, meaning he and Chen Zhoumu shouldn't be on the same floor either.

Chen Zhoumu carried Song Shi's luggage up to the second floor. Song Shi didn't have much luggage; due to the extended duration of the competition class, the affiliated high school had provided free bedding for everyone.

After carrying Song Shi's suitcase up, Chen Zhoumu was called away by the supervising teacher to help. He was also a well-known student at the school, both for his past outstanding achievements and the recent uproar.

After saying goodbye, Song Shi packed his things alone in his room. After hanging up the clothes and towels, he looked at the unopened blankets on the bed and hesitated.

He then meticulously made the sheets, then turned his attention back to the thick cotton in the bag. Expressionless, he pulled the bundle out and placed it on the bed.

After spreading out the blanket, just like the first time Chen Zhoumu spread it for him in Xia City, he pinched one foot and stuffed it in, then hastily stuffed all four feet in before lifting it up and shaking it.

But unsurprisingly

, something went wrong. Song Shi looked at the blanket, which he had done perfectly step by step, and saw that it was completely crammed together. He sighed, "Oh well, as long as it covers me, it's fine." With that thought, he casually folded the mess together, a feeling of irritation rising within him.

He would definitely learn these things when he had time; they seemed simple, but were actually quite complicated.

He suddenly thought of Chen Zhoumu again. Despite appearing to be a pampered young master who never lifted a finger, he was actually quite capable in many ways.

For example, when he first met Chen Zhoumu, Chen Zhoumu was repairing a machine at a repair shop; or Chen Zhoumu knew how to put on a duvet cover and did it very well; or even someone who was considered a complete school bully by others was now willing to help others with enthusiasm.

Song Shi closed the door to the room. He wanted to go downstairs to find the other person. As he walked towards the stairwell, the person looking down at their phone glanced at the many people coming up the stairs and was about to step aside to make way when

the group stopped and stood right in front of them.

A shadow fell over Yan Qing's vision. Song Shi put his phone down and slowly looked up. The person whose eyes had initially held a hint of warmth instantly turned cold.

The person was none other than

Zhang Su, the very student from the prestigious school Song Shi had fought so fiercely for, the reason he'd gone to Xia City.

Song Shi had no morals left to give way; he simply brushed past Zhang Su's shoulder without pausing for a second.

But Zhang Su relentlessly pursued him. A hand blocked his path, and the person who had been standing nearby also moved in front of him.

Zhang Su slowly retreated to stand before him, their heights now equal.

The other person spoke first: "Song Shi, you actually dared to come back. I must say, you're doing quite well in Xia City. Is that your new friend down there?"

"Zhang Su, where do you want to get beaten this time?"

The other person paused, then smiled, concealing the malice in their eyes: "You still think you can survive in Yang City? Didn't your dad's latest experimental drug have problems?"

Song Shi looked at him coldly: "Zhang Su, you're pathetic, still trying to get my attention?"

The person in front of him grabbed his shoulder as he was about to leave: "Song Shi, aren't you afraid I'll tell your friends about your dirty secrets?"

"Whatever."

"I'm not talking about that."

The other person said, turning on their phone, displaying a photo, then leaning closer and whispering,

"It's about your liking men."
